Rules for using CommandRanks.
Who runs this
CommandRanks is a hobby project run by a private enthusiast. It is not a company, a government office, or a military command.
The contact address is commandrank@gmail.com. That is the address for a correction or a complaint. A signed-in person closes the account with Delete account in the menu.
Entertainment
The site is for entertainment. The ranking is an opinion produced by accounts that vote here. It is not an official evaluation by any armed force, by NATO, or by a government.
Do not use a score, a dossier, or a map pin as a military, employment, or official decision.
Accounts
A person uses one account. The account is created with an email address and a password. Sign-in is handled by the account service. CommandRanks keeps the email address and the role on the account.
An ordinary account votes on Vox Populi. Senatus is open only to an account marked expert or admin. An ordinary account cannot change commanders, roles, or anyone else's vote.
Votes
A season lasts 3 months: January, April, July, and October, using the calendar in Europe/Warsaw. In one season an account casts one ordinary vote on Vox Populi and, where the role allows it, one ordinary vote on Senatus.
The same limit applies to the IP address. One address, one ordinary vote on each ranking, each season. The address is stored only as a one-way mark for that check. It is not shown to other people. A vote stays with the commander it was cast for.
CommandVotes
A CommandVote counts as 10 points on Vox Populi. An account can cast at most 3 CommandVotes on one calendar day in Europe/Warsaw.
The shop shows a price of 1 USD for each CommandVote, in packs of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 50. Sales are paused. The button does not add CommandVotes and does not charge a card. No money is collected, so there is no payment to refund.
A CommandVote that has been cast is spent. It is not returned to the balance. If a later version of the shop takes real payment, these rules will be changed on this page before that happens. A charge that never bought the votes, or a vote that was not added, can be raised by email.
Conduct
Do not open extra accounts to add votes, sell or transfer votes outside the shop, or pretend to be a commander, the operator, or another account.
Dossiers and portraits
The biographies are written for this site and checked against public records. They can be incomplete. A portrait is used when a public-domain photograph is available. Otherwise the card shows initials.
A person named on the site, or anyone who sees a mistake, can write to commandrank@gmail.com and ask for a correction.
What the account stores
The account record holds the email address, the role, that account's own votes, the CommandVote balance, and the days a CommandVote was cast. An ordinary vote also keeps a one-way mark of the IP address for the season. Those records are what make the ranking and the shop work. Other visitors do not get a list of who voted for whom.
Delete account in the menu closes the account and removes its votes. The last remaining administrator cannot be closed this way.
Responsibility
The operator is not responsible for a decision someone makes from the ranking, for a gap in a dossier, or for the site being down.
That limit does not remove responsibility for harm caused on purpose, for injury to a person, or for a right the law does not let a site waive.
